What is Skin Needing?

What skin needling machine do we use?

We use the brand new DermaPen 4. Unlike other skin needling rollers on the market, the Dermapen is gentler on the skin, while still boasting incredible results. Dermapen has been proven to cause less trauma and has minimal epidermal damage, which in turn reduces the pain and discomfort felt by patients.

Furthermore, the Dermapen uses disposable needles, which significantly minimises the risk of cross-contamination, allowing for a more comfortable and much safer treatment. Likewise, the adjustable needle depths allow for a customised treatment, tailored to your specific requirements and needs. A modern and highly advanced piece of technology, the Dermapen has been specially designed to be suitable for even the most delicate and hard to reach areas, including the eyes, lips and nose.

The DermaPen 4 has an amazing feature not seen with any other skin needling device! This is the scar tissue setting. This settling allows the skin needling pen to reach depths in order to treat scarring.

Platelet Rich Plasma
Goodbye dark circles, acne, pigmentation, scarring…

Single PRP Treatment

Cost: $299 (single treatment)

PRP Injections (excludes skin needling)

Cost: $149 (single treatment)

PRP Package

3 x PRP Treatments (4 – 6 weeks apart)

Cost: $799

PRP Injections Package (excludes skin needling)

3 x PRP Injection Treatments

Cost: $399

What is PRP?

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy is an extract of your own blood that contains a high concentration of platelets, growth factors, and active proteins essential for tissue regeneration and healing

PRP is the ultimate biological skin rejuvenation treatment. It uses the patient’s own cells to refresh the complexion and provide overall rejuvenation by repairing the elasticity, colour and quality of the skin which minimises wrinkles, scarring, and crepe skin; as well as a leading treatment in hair restoration.

What does Aesthetic PRP treat?

Skin Rejuvenation:

In dermatology and cosmetic medicine, PRP has been used to treat overall health, tone and elasticity of the skin; reducing fine facial wrinkles / lines; minimising the appearance of scars / acne scarring; reducing under-eye dark circles / hollows; decreasing the visible signs of aged and sun damaged skin; promoting even skin tone and texture; addressing mild collagen and volume loss. As well as facial rejuvenation, PRP is a popular treatment to treat the neck, decolletage, back of hands, forearms, elbows, knees as well as stretch marks – abdomen, breasts, thighs and buttocks.

Hair Restoration:

When PRP is injected into the scalp the application of PRP causes miniaturized hair follicles to become healthier and larger, producing more robust hair growth. PRP activates follicular progenitor cells (adult stem cells) and promotes angiogenesis and localised cell growth. Effective for both male and female pattern hair loss

What to expect?

This treatment takes on average a hour to complete

Step 1. The blood is drawn from your arm

Step 2. Your blood is spun in a centrifuge (separating the plasma, platelets & red blood cells)

Step 3. The face is prepped with our premium skin products (including medical grade numbing cream to give you a pleasant experience)

Step 4. The plasma is then injected into the areas of concern

Step 5. The remaining plasma is then micro-needled into your skin

How does PRP work for Skin Rejuvenation?

When PRP is injected back into the skin layers it initiates a local stem cell response. In the weeks and months following treatment these stem cells help to form new collagen structure and blood vessels, repair and regenerate damaged skin, and help slow and reverse the signs of aging, creating healthy skin that looks refreshed and rejuvenated

Science of PRP

PRP works by recreating and stimulating the body’s natural healing process. When tissue is injured, the body responds by sending specific ‘super healer’ cell types to the site of injury to start the repairing process and regeneration of new tissue. These ‘super healer’ cells are platelets.

Platelets perform many functions in our bodies, including formation of a blood clot and release of growth factors (GF) into injured tissue or a wound to start the healing process. Ageing skin requires a helping hand to initiate the healing and repair process, and this is where PRP therapy excels. PRP provides all of the essential Growth Factors (GFs) that stimulate healing and improves the body’s own ability to heal in a safe and effective way.

Cosmetic PRP Facial Rejuvenation is a procedure that harnesses the healing power of platelets and growth factors from your blood to stimulate a stem cell response. These stem cells assist in creating new collagen and blood vessels, repair and regenerate damaged skin to help slow and reverse the signs of ageing

Is there Evidence that PRP Works?

Worldwide research has proven that PRP is effective for regeneration of tissues. Published clinical studies have demonstrated that PRP is beneficial for rejuvenation of facial ageing, including wrinkling in persons with modest grades of photo or chronological aging. There are over 5,000 published scientific research papers on the use of PRP to improve healing – across all treatment areas, eg: surgery, sports medicine, orthopedics, dental and aesthetic.

When are results apparent?

Immediately after the procedure, the injected skin may feel tighter than usual, with lines / wrinkles appearing minimised. This response will subside and return to normal within 4 days. However the PRP under the surface of the skin, causes formation of new cells and improvement in subsurface layers of the skin. The results are gradual and vary between patients. Typically 3 weeks after treatment an overall improvement in skin hydration, texture and tone can be seen. Between 3 and 6 weeks, new collagen is made and new blood vessels are formed leading to an overall improvement in skin appearance. Reduction of fine lines and improvements to skin elasticity will continue for several months. Research has stated that the effects of cosmetic PRP can last 12 months to 2 years.

How Often Should PRP be Performed?

Published research and our Doctors’ results have shown that the best results are achieved by a series of 3 injections at 4 or 6 week intervals, and then yearly thereafter. Depending on the patient’s age, some patients choose to return every six months rather than yearly.

How does Teeth Whitening work?

Teeth whitening involves bleaching stains on teeth to make them whiter. Teeth whitening can’t make your teeth paper white like in the movies, but it can lighten the existing colour of teeth by many shades.  Teeth whitening involves the use of an agent to remove stains on the enamel of the teeth caused by lifestyle. This is where an oxidation reaction that breaks apart the staining compounds and lifts them from the teeth.

Teeth whitening bleaches the stains on the surface of the teeth it does not whiten enamel, no matter how strong the lamp or the gel, whether done by a technician or a dentist.  Once there are virtually no more stains to whiten this is referred to as ‘Maximum Results’.  The maximum result teeth whitening can achieve is the return the teeth to the colour they were grown.  The average person has 5-14 shades of staining on the surface of their teeth.  That is an average person with an average diet.  This doesn’t refer to someone who uses teeth whitening products regularly nor it is a heavy smoker it is just your average person.

These in chair systems use peroxide or non peroxide gels, combined with a high intensity light to accelerate the whitening reaction. The in-office teeth whitening treatment can achieve about five to fourteen shades of whitening after only two twenty-minute treatments.

Technician supervised systems have advantages when compared to over-the-counter teeth whitening products. The main advantage of the technician supervised system is that maximum results can be achieved in a one hour sessions rather than repeated application over many days or even weeks.

Teeth whitening isn’t permanent. It can last from several months to up to two years; this varies from person to person depending on their lifestyle. Basically, teeth whitening won’t last as long if you smoke or drink red wine, tea or coffee, which can all stain your teeth.  Teeth whitening won’t work on dentures, crowns, fillings or veneers.

What results can you expect?

We offer the strongest gels available for use outside of a dental clinic in Australia and the highest grade equipment.  When the process is done correctly most clients achieve maximum results in one treatment with our products which for the average person is 5-14 shades lighter.  What this means is 5-14 shades is the average level of staining a person with an average diet and lifestyle has on the surface of their teeth, who hasn’t had a whitening treatment for at least 12 months and hasn’t been using home products.

Teeth whitening bleaches the stains on the surface of the teeth it doesn’t whiten enamel no matter who does it, even a dentist.  This is the case no matter how strong the lamp is or how strong the peroxide is.  Teeth with very little staining due to good diet or the use of home whitening treatments may not show as large a result.  The more stained a person’s teeth the greater the result will be.  The whiter the persons teeth were originally the whiter the result that can be achieved.  Each client will have a different start and post treatment shade and will lighten by a different number of shades.

Which stains will get the best results?

Certain discolouration will respond to whitening better than others.  Yellow stains are usually the easiest to lift as they are generally on the surface of the teeth and are caused mainly through foods and drinks.  These stains have a high to moderate chance of lifting.  Brown stains tend to work deeper into the enamel and can even be part of the natural tooth enamel.  Brown is often a product of the aging process. (more about this in the next paragraph) These stains have a moderate to low chance of lifting.  Grey stains are generally inside the tooth which is called intrinsic staining.  Causes are usually a dead nerve or the use of medications.  This discoloration is on the inside of the tooth and teeth whitening will not be effective.

Does age make a difference?

Age plays a big part in the results achieved in teeth whitening.  Younger clients will have stronger, healthier enamel which means the stains will stay on the surface of the teeth and good results are generally achieved.  As we age enamel becomes thinner and microscopic cracks appear trapping the stains.  A good example for this is china; you will notice as your dinnerware ages it becomes stained and has cracks in the surface which scrubbing will no longer remove.  This is the same with tooth enamel.
